Clean, Smart ActionScript

The code is designed to work with any image, at any resolution. The final result will be in RGB Mode 8-bit regardless of the starting format: remember you can switch back to your settings once the ActionScript have finished.

In case your starting photo is inferior to 2500 pixels it will be resized in order for the Filters and Pattern Deco Scripts to work correctly and always give you a good result.

The Scripts will behave differently basing on your starting photo and Document ratio but the final results will be always consistent and the painting effect will always be appropriate for the image.

Very Easy to Install and Use

Just follow the provided instructions or the Video Demos to unleash a different array of different artworks from your still life images. To create the Animation is equally as simple: Once we apply the “Paint Fx” just click on “Animate” and the animation is automatically created.

There are details and textures that are hidden by default in the final .psd file: we can adjust the Layers depending on our composition and objective, if we want a more abstract look or a more defined one.

You can create images in very high resolution and print them! Real Paint FX will work on images up to 20K pixels at 300DPI (you’ll have to transform the resolution from 72 to 300 DPI once the Script finishes). IMPORTANT! This action uses the Oil Paint Filter.

The compatible versions of Photoshop are CS 6, CC, CC 2015.1, CC 2015.5+, CC 2017+.
The oil paint filter is missing in versions CS 5 and below, CC 2014, CC 2015. Hence, this action will not work in these versions.

If Oil Paint is grayed out for you, try these steps:

Make sure Photoshop is up-to-date.
Make sure that your document is RGB. Oil Paint won’t work on color spaces other than RGB (e.g. CMYK, Lab, etc.).
If you’re on Windows, make sure you’re running a 64-bit OS with the 64-bit version of Photoshop. OpenCL requires 64-bit.

Ensure that Use Graphics Processor is selected.
Open the Advanced Graphics Processor Settings dialog.
Select Use Native Operating System GPU Acceleration.

Tested and assured This action has been tested and working on Photoshop CS6, CC, CC 2015.1, CC 2015.5, CC 2017+ Tested with more than 50 images to assure the integrity of the action.

Recommended size The action works best with images having size around 1500px – 3500px high/wide and 72/300 dpi resolution. Using lower resolution images will result in lower details and clarity of the final composition.
If you have a lower resolution image, go to “Image” -> “Image Size…” and change them to the specified dimensions. Use can always resize to your original dimension after the effect has been applied.

The action will only work in the English version of the Photoshop. If you are not using the English version, follow this video to change it to English and then back to your native language.

Important to know

Make sure you are using the English version of Photoshop to run the Action on. All Sevenstyles Actions will only work in the English version of Photoshop.

Check you are using a version of Photoshop that the Action supports.

Use high-resolution photos with the Action for the best results and to avoid errors. An optimal photo resolution is between 2000px – 4500px.

With Adobe Creative Cloud, you can install multiple versions of Photoshop. If you like this Action but is not supported on your version of Photoshop, you can always install an additional version of Photoshop to run the Action on. Once an Action has been tested and working on a version of Photoshop, it will work forever.

Use Jpeg images to run the Action on. Other file types such as TIFF, BMP, PNG, PSD can cause issues with Actions, as Photoshop disables various features for different file types.

If a Sevenstyles Action includes a brush (.abr), pattern (.pat) or shapes (.csh) file in the download, then it must be loaded into Photoshop before playing the Action.

Avoid using the Action on logos or clip art style images as the lack of detail and color contrast can lead to errors.

Having troubles with the Action?

Double check you have your file setup correctly as shown at the beginning of the video tutorial.

Check the resolution of your photo. If its a low-resolution photo (<1000px), take the shortest length of your photo and increase it to around 2500px or more. This will help avoid errors and also create far better results.

Create custom effects

Photo effect Actions can be combined to create new effects. Follow these steps below:

Run the first Action on your photo.
Once you are happy with the result, save your design as a Jpeg image.
Close your Photoshop file and re-open the image you just saved.
Now run another Action over your photo! This will then stack the second effect on top of the first.

There are so many undiscovered effects that can be created!

The 3D Map Generator – Terrain is language independent and can be installed with every language version of Photoshop. The interface is always in English as shown.

Creating a 3D map with the 3D Map Generator – Terrain can take 15 min or more, depending on the map size and the performance of your computer. Follow the advices in the help file to optimize the process.

The 3D Map Generator – Terrain can be used on both PC and Mac. Please mind the minimum requirements for performance.

Generally every map size is possible. But the processing time (rendering time) and the map size depends on the performance and the hard-disk space of your computer. All provided textures and brushes are optimized on a basic shape or grayscale heightmap size of 1000×1000 up to 1500×1500 px.

Grayscale Heightmap services: All suggested heightmap services are not part of the 3D Map Generator – Terrain. They are just options for getting a grayscale heightmap. There is no guarantee of availability or functionality. The available heighmaps for most areas have a maximum zoom factor of 14z-15z. This is approximately equal to a height of 5,000m – 7,000m.

You can NOT export the maps to any other 3D apps (like 3D Max, Cinema 4D or Blender. You can NOT 3D-print the maps.

If Oil Paint is grayed out for you, try these steps:

- Make sure Photoshop is up-to-date

- Make sure that your document is RGB. Oil Paint won’t work on color spaces other than RGB (e.g. CMYK, Lab, etc.)

- If you’re on Windows, make sure you’re running a 64-bit OS with the 64-bit version of Photoshop. OpenCL requires 64-bit

- Make sure Use Graphics Processor is checked under Preferences > Performance

- Make sure that your video card driver is up to date with the latest from the vendor website.

Each action has been created and optimized to work only with the English version of Photoshop, so please make sure that you are using this version. If not, don’t worry: you can change the language of your version of Photoshop to English (and switch back again) using this method

2. Use the RGB Mode and 8 Bits color. To check these settings, go to Image->Mode and check the “RGB color” and “8 Bits/Channel”.

3. Make sure that the option “Add ‘copy’ to Copied Layers and Groups” is turned on. This option applies only to CS5 and later versions of Photoshop. On the “LAYERS” panel, click on the menu icon, go to “Panel Options…”, and check that the “Add ‘copy’ to Copied Layers and Groups” is turned on.

4. Use a photo with 72dpi or higher. If you are using a photo with less than 72dpi, the action will not function correctly. To fix this, go to Image->Image Size and increase the resolution value.

5. Set the Opacity of brush to 100%. Set the Opacity of the brush to 100%. Select the “Brush Tool” and move the opacity slider to 100%.

How to Create multi color badges like logos

Open a new PSD file and add the logo shapes in different layers.
Right click on each layer and convert it to smart object.
Double click on the layer thumbnail to open the smart object.
Inside you can play one of the 4 actions. When you are done with customizations, etc you have to hide the Background layer.
Save and close the smart object.
Repeat from step 1 for the other shapes.

I added a PSD file “EMBROIDERY-SAMPLES” with samples of all the effects produced by the first 20 actions.
Also I added 2 action that can be used to create the fill shape embroidery effect. Add your text/shape and play the “FULL EMBROIDERY” action. Use the “Fill shape with embroidery” action several times to fill your shape. You can leave the default brush or you can get creative and use other stitch brushes.

What’s the difference

Realistic Embroidery 3 is a fully integrated Photoshop plugin and it packs up a new architecture and so many new features that it is sold as a separate product!

While this version, Realistic Embroidery 2 is a set of Actions that is still a perfect choice if you want to create embroidered elements in Photoshop. It will be available for download as usual and kept up-to-date with future Photoshop releases.
